Originally launched as Crown Odyssey, a ship purpose built for long range cruising, the Balmoral began sailing under the Fred. Olsen brand in January 2008. The Balmoral isn’t a cruise ship for children. With '60s and '70s themed nights, graceful ballroom dances and all kinds of shows going on, the Balmoral is strictly mature. From 29th May 2009, the ship will have a totally smoke free indoors environment.  Smoking will only be permitted on cabin balconies and on specially designated areas of deck space. This cruise is a 5 night mini-cruise originating and ending in Dover and calling at Guernsey, Cobh and Honfleur.
